AUTOMATIC SUSPENSIONS 2007

When a player receives a red card they are automatically suspended for one match. In addition they may receive further automatic penalties, dependant on the referees charge and in accordance with the table below. If the Management Committee deems the incident to be a serious nature the player may be cited and a further penalty as determined by the Management Committee, may be applied.
The player has the right of appeal on any suspension greater than two (2) matches.

To appeal the League Secretary must receive notification in writing of intent to appeal from the player's club secretary, on club letterhead, accompanied by a fifty dollar ($50) appeal deposit within seven (7) days of the original decision. Clubs should note that penalties could be increased as well as decreased on appeal. The fifty ($50) deposit will only be refunded at the P & D committee's discretion.
Clubs are put on notice that is their club secretary's responsibility to check with the league register (9797 6690) should they have any doubt about their player's suspension.

Notification of a player's suspension will be made by the league's secretary via E-mail and a hard copy via Australia Post. No lost in mail excuses will be considered as an excuse for not knowing of a P & D decision.

WHAT HAPPENS IF A PLAYER RECEIVES A RED CARD?

If a player receives a red card from a referee he is automatically disqualified from the next playing fixture.
In addition the player may receive additional penalties dependant on the referee's charge on the day. It is the "club secretary's reponsibility" to approach the referee at the end of the day, ask what the player has been charged with, make sure it has been noted on the team sheet and if the offence carries a greater penalty than one (1) match, hand over the players ID card to the referee. Failure to comply with the latter will result in the club being fined fifty dollars ($50).

Clubs please note that automatic suspensions mean that a player sent off does NOT have to appear before the P & D committee unless they are requested to do so by the leagues Secretary.

CITINGS

If the league wished to cite a player it will inform the player's club secretary in writing. Stating the reason, date and time for the player to appear at the hearing. Giving the player no less than seven (7) days notice to prepare his case.
Failure to adhere to either of the previous items the player will be suspended til he appears subject to giving the league committee no less than two (2) weeks of his appear in writing.

YELLOW CARDS

Yellow cards are worth four (4) points. After a player has amassed 12 points the club will be notified of a one (1) match suspension by the League. Players do not serve a suspension until they receive notification through their respective club secretary from the League's Secretary.
